The concept is:

Develop an official AI integration (e.g., utilizing OpenAI GPT, Anthropic, or similar) that enables:

  • Automatic generation of complete workflows from natural language descriptions.
  • Suggestion and creation of custom nodes based on user needs.
  • Offering this as a premium feature within callin.io (via subscription or credits) or allowing users to easily connect to their preferred AI API.

My use case:

  1. Productivity: Instead of manually building each node, I can describe my requirement—like “download files from FTP, filter by date, send an email with an attachment”—and receive a ready-to-tweak workflow.
  2. Accessibility: Users without technical expertise can build automations simply by describing the process in plain English.
  3. Rapid Prototyping: Quickly set up a proof-of-concept in minutes, then refine the specifics.
  4. Custom Nodes: For particular situations (e.g., interacting with our internal API), the AI can generate the basic node structure, requiring only parameter adjustments from my end.

How I visualize it functioning:

  • A "Generate with AI" button integrated into the Workflow Editor toolbar.
  • A modal input with a text field for describing the desired workflow.
  • A preview of the generated workflow JSON, with an "Import" option to directly place it onto the canvas.
  • A usage dashboard to track consumed AI credits.
  • AI provider settings (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, etc.) accessible within callin.io's Settings panel.

Advantages for the community and for callin.io:

  • Increases adoption among users lacking technical backgrounds.
  • Establishes a new revenue stream through AI credits.
  • Differentiates callin.io with a unique "Workflow as Code—by AI" capability.

I'm keen to hear if others find value in this, have UX suggestions, or are interested in collaborating on such an add-on!
Thanks!
