Hey callin.io community!
I've been developing some rather intricate callin.io scenarios recently that interact with several AI services. My usual process might begin with OpenAI generating text, followed by Claude for refined responses, and perhaps RunwayML for image creation – all seamlessly integrated within callin.io.
However, I encountered a significant challenge: monitoring the actual cost of running each scenario. I often found myself wondering, "Does this customer support automation cost $0.05 or $0.50 per execution when factoring in all the distinct AI calls?" The fragmented billing across various platforms made it impossible to determine.
Initially, I began manually recording data into spreadsheets, but this approach quickly proved unmanageable. I was genuinely curious if others were encountering this same difficulty?
To address my own problem, I created a straightforward tool AIBillingDashboard that enables me to:
- View all my AI expenditures in a unified location
- Monitor costs associated with specific callin.io scenarios
- Identify which AI services are the most expensive
- Receive alerts for upcoming bill due dates
However, I'm much more keen to learn about YOUR experiences:
- How are you currently tracking the expenses of AI services utilized within your callin.io scenarios?
- Is this a concern for you, or am I perhaps overthinking it?
- What would your perfect cost tracking solution entail?
I'm also wondering – would a specialized callin.io cost analyzer that directly interfaces with your account (via the API) offer greater value? Something capable of automatically segmenting costs by scenario, organization, team, time frame, and so forth?
This is not a sales attempt – I genuinely aim to understand if others face this same issue and what type of solution would effectively resolve it.
Looking forward to hearing about your experiences!
