I've integrated tools for Wikipedia and Google Search, but Gemini isn't utilizing them. Do you have any suggestions?

Same question / issue here. How can we enable AI Agent node tool calling with Gemini? It appears that function calling is supported by Gemini (and Vertex).
Could someone please provide guidance on how to get this working?

After some additional testing, I believe this issue stems from using Gemini Flash rather than Pro. It appears that tool calls function correctly with the Pro model.

The Google Gemini Chat Model isn't functioning for me when using the Tools Agent.
I've experimented with gemini-1.5-flash-latest, 2.0-exp, and other variations.

I can confirm that Gemini Flash does not execute the tool in my setup, even when explicitly stating the tool's name and providing instructions to run it, along with all the necessary details.
ChatGPT performs the task, but it occasionally fails to launch tools, which led me to discontinue its use.
I resolved this issue with Gemini Flash by generating a JSON output response that required extensive parsing. However, this approach yielded nearly 100% success rates in my tests.

I've transitioned to using gemini-2.5-flash-preview-4-17, which includes built-in support for tool calling and appears to be functioning well at the moment.

This solution worked for me, while other tools are not compatible with other Gemini models. Will this issue be addressed?
