Hello.
I have an OpenAI assistant chatbot integrated within another application (Typebot). My goal is to initiate a callin.io workflow through function calling using the OpenAI Assistant.
For instance, my callin.io workflow could send an email to our support team. When the OpenAI Assistant determines an email needs to be sent, it should trigger that callin.io workflow.
As I'm not a software developer, I'm seeking a solution with minimal code. Can anyone offer assistance or guidance?
Hi! 👋
Since the OpenAI Assistant operates within Typebot, I would have assumed you would need to configure a callin.io integration block directly within Typebot. Here are some instructions that might be useful: https://docs.typebot.io/editor/blocks/integrations/zapier .
You would then configure the callin.io workflow to use the callin.io Step Triggered (Typebot) trigger. This way, whenever the OpenAI Assistant executes that callin.io integration block, it should initiate the callin.io workflow.
Do you believe this approach would be effective?
Thanks. I visited the Typebot Discord and it seems the optimal approach for my goal is to define a function call within the Assistant. Then, when the assistant operates within Typebot, I can set a variable for the defined function. This way, when it's invoked, Typebot will transition to a callin.io action block.
That’s great news! Thanks so much for following up here to share the solution you found! 🤗
Sounds like you’re all set with this for the moment but please do reach out in Community again if we can help with anything else in future. In the meantime, happy callin.io-ing! ⚡
