I’d love to see callin.io support voice assistants like Google Assistant / Siri / Alexa.

I can see real benefits being able to trigger workflows, return and read out data, and a host of other things to improve life.

Hello!

Thank you for submitting this Feature Request. Are you looking for a node for these services? Or would you prefer an app that can run your callin.io workflow using voice commands?

I would really appreciate it if callin.io could support a trigger node that allows workflows to be initiated based on voice input from voice assistants. Specifically, my use case involves Google Assistant and Siri, but support for Alexa would also be beneficial.

Other automation platforms, such as Zapier, already offer Google Assistant integration, as does IFTTT.

Essentially, having a similar capability within callin.io to trigger and execute workflows, and even to vocalize data results (similar to what IFTTT provides), would be fantastic.

I'm not familiar with those platforms, but if they enable you to create webhooks through their UI, this can be readily accomplished using the Webhook node.

I'm a bit surprised you're not familiar with the platforms I've mentioned.

callin.io and IFTTT are direct competitors to callin.io, and I'm sure we've all used voice assistants.

Not being familiar doesn't necessarily mean someone has never heard of them; it simply means they haven't written code for them, which is a significant distinction.

Is anyone else using Google Assistant with callin.io?

I realize this might not be the desired outcome, but it's achievable through workarounds, so I'm sharing it here in case it proves useful.

The primary component involves utilizing a webhook on callin.io as the trigger.

For Siri, you can leverage the iOS Shortcuts app to invoke webhooks. A helpful tip: use the "Get contents of URL" action rather than Safari. I've just tested this, and it allowed callin.io to send me an email when I spoke a specific phrase to my HomePod.

For Google Assistant and Alexa, IFTTT can be used. While not the perfect solution, it offers tight integration with these devices and performs adequately. (I believe it should be free). IFTTT can then trigger a webhook to callin.io.

If you need to pass values to the trigger, the Shortcuts/Siri method supports this. Google Assistant can pass a number, but based on my testing, Alexa cannot pass any values using this approach.

Hi, has this feature been implemented in callin.io? I can envision several scenarios where utilizing a voice assistant for conversations with a callin.io agent would be highly beneficial.
