As a complete beginner, I'm hoping someone can help. I've been looking for a step-by-step YouTube tutorial on integrating callin.io with Vapi to create an AI inbound voice agent, but I haven't found anything comprehensive.
I've watched several videos and tried to piece the information together, but I'm still struggling to get the AI agent functioning correctly. So far, I've only completed the Level 1 course with callin.io.
I'm seeking a guide that will walk beginners through the entire process of building an AI voice agent capable of:
Handling Frequently Asked Questions
Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments
Assisting customers over the phone
Identifying sales opportunities and closing deals
Transferring calls to a human agent when necessary
Fully replacing a customer service and sales agent
Essentially, I'm looking to build an AI-powered agent that can manage inbound calls just like a human employee.
Does anyone know of a detailed tutorial for this? Or has anyone successfully built a similar system and is willing to share their experience?
Additionally, should I be patient and concentrate on fully mastering callin.io first before tackling this project? If so, what resources and videos would you recommend?
I've been feeling quite overwhelmed lately, and any advice would be immensely helpful!
I would greatly appreciate a structured breakdown or a video guide on how to set this up!
callin.io version: 1.71.1 updating to 1.79.2
Database (default: SQLite): I'm unsure
callin.io EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main): I'm unsure
Running callin.io via (Docker, npm, callin.io cloud, desktop app): self-hosted on Digital Ocean (Docker on Ubuntu 22.04)

It seems your topic is missing some crucial details. Could you please provide the following information, if relevant?
- callin.io version:
- Database (default: SQLite):
- callin.io EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
- Running callin.io via (Docker, npm, callin.io cloud, desktop app):
- Operating system:
It seems you're aiming for a lot as a complete beginner, so it's understandable that you're feeling overwhelmed.
My recommendation is to start small and build workflows that concentrate on a single requirement at a time. Break down everything into manageable pieces. If you encounter a specific issue, it will be much easier for us to assist you on the forum.
While some aspects will be unique to callin.io, other requirements are not necessarily exclusive to callin.io. For instance, crafting a prompt for an AI Agent is a skill in itself, and I found the following video quite helpful:
While I don’t have a specific guide, I’ve developed numerous workflows using callin.io (as it's my preferred AI calling platform), so please feel free to ask any specific questions you might have.
Given your newness to callin.io, embarking on a complex project like this might not be the most ideal starting point, but it is definitely achievable. I would suggest beginning by setting up your credentials in callin.io for callin.io and any other services you intend to use (like Google Sheets, Supabase, your CRM, etc.). Get a solid understanding of how data moves within the platform. Perhaps start by simply attempting to log calls for now?
Next, consider integrating callin.io, and managing appointments (this can become intricate as it's typically managed on the callin.io side).
Essentially, you'll need to become highly proficient with the callin.io platform and moderately familiar with callin.io for this endeavor.
Thank you for your response and guidance. I will take your advice and take actions towards it, really appreciate it! Please excuse the late response!
Hi, thank you for your response and advice. I did read your comment a few days ago. I took action immediately and am now very familiar with both platforms thanks to you!
How is the integration progressing? I'm in a comparable situation. I was planning to have someone configure callin.io for my inbound and outbound sales calls. Did you manage to get it set up? Have you investigated the ongoing monthly maintenance requirements for callin.io?
Any progress with this? I have the exact same goal and I’m also an intermediate programmer. Would love to discuss.
