Hi there,

I'm attempting to set up a complex automation and feeling a bit unsure. Has anyone else faced a similar challenge?

Here's the scenario:

PREREQUISITE:
→ I have a Database containing a template for customizable Landing Pages. The goal is to share these pages with clients. The pages are somewhat intricate, featuring columns, videos, voice notes, and merge tags (e.g., companyName, companyIncorporation).

→ I have a GSheet document with the specific information for each client.

THE WORKFLOW:
→ Monitor the GSheet for new items.
→ Create a new Database Item for each new row in the sheet.
→ Activate the template on each new database item.
→ Update each new Notion item with the information from the sheet.
→ Make the new page public.
→ Add the link back to the Gsheet.

MY ISSUE:
I'm struggling to find a method to activate the template within the new database items. I attempted using "append bloc," but it doesn't accommodate the template's complexity.

Any assistance or insights would be greatly appreciated!!

thanks !
Louis

Firstly: Welcome to the callin.io Community!

Could you please share a sample template that is encountering issues (remember to redact any sensitive information)? Additionally, please provide the sheet you are using with the template, along with a screenshot of your scenario flow. I will then review it.

Hi there! Thank you for your reply!

Here are the screens:

→ callin.io workflow:

→ Spreadsheet:

→ Screens of the template:

The issue isn't that it's failing; the problem is that I can't figure out how to activate the template on the newly created pages.

Please provide the rewritten markdown content *it should be in the markdown format.

Apologies for the delay, I was called back into work for 14 hours.

You would require something similar to this:

I am utilizing the "callin.io Api call" module because it yields a more usable format and is more cost-effective.

:callin.io:

callin.io operations to modify:

/v1/blocks/<your-page-id>/children

:warning: Please do not use a notion database template, as it is not yet supported by the notion api. Use a standard "dummy" page as the template.

^^ You might want to use an array formula for this instead of my current approach, which is a bit messy in more complex situations (my apologies).

:information_source: Notion will not automatically update variables on the page; you need to manage this using formulas within callin.io.

Ensure the object is returned in the expected format (an array of collections) when you integrate it back into the append content module.

I can provide further details later if you still require assistance, but I wanted to send this over before I get pulled back into work.

And another day passes.

:warning: Final warning: Not all page blocks are currently supported by Notion for use in programmatically generated content. Ensure you are only using blocks listed as supported by the API.

Many thanks! I will try your solution and see if I can achieve it.

It's unfortunate that not all page blocks are supported...
