Describe the problem/error/question
Hello everyone
I'm attempting to set up my first AI Email Agent with callin.io, but I'm encountering an issue. When I interact with the AI agent and instruct it to send an email, the agent is unable to locate the recipient's email address.
Thank you for your assistance.
What is the error message (if any)?

Hi there, it seems the tool calling couldn't locate the email address you were searching for.
- Was the email address available in the contacts database?
- Did the tool invocation miss any parameters?
I would suggest focusing on debugging the AI agent node to confirm it's capturing the correct data.
For enhanced error handling, consider inserting a conditional node prior to the email node.
Based on the screenshots you provided, it appears that the sub-workflow is not receiving an email address (the send to
field), message content, or other necessary data.
I suggest refining the system prompt where you invoke the other workflow. For instance, specify the tool name, such as send_email
, and clearly outline the values that must be passed when calling this tool. Afterward, conduct thorough testing.
Additionally, I'm curious about the rationale for employing a sub-workflow to dispatch emails. Have you considered using the Gmail tool directly instead?
Thank you so much, I will try that.
Thanks Ahzem for your suggestion. To be honest, this is my first AI agent. When I created it, I followed Nate Herc’s video demonstrating how to build an AI mail agent. I replicated everything, or so I thought, but something isn't functioning correctly. I've been trying to diagnose the issue for three days now. I've rewatched the video five times, and everything appears to be correct. After that, I decided to seek advice from the professionals.
If you have some time, could you please help me understand how to use the Gmail tool? Thank you very much.
