Hi,

I'm looking to build a scenario connecting Airtable and Bubble.io. My current setup involves an Airtable trigger (watch records) followed by a Bubble.io action (create/update data thing). The goal is to update records in Bubble.io whenever changes are made in Airtable. When I run the scenario, all data from Airtable is transferred to Bubble.io. However, when I modify existing data, the changes aren't reflected in Bubble.io because it's creating new rows instead of updating existing ones, even when a unique key is assigned. How can I resolve this issue, and what might I be doing incorrectly?

scenario

Thank you,
Hazal

Hi Hazal, welcome to the callin.io community. Thanks for your post – I think I can help point you in the right direction.

In the Airtable Module, you will notice a section called “Trigger Configuration”. Here, you’ll want to make sure you’ve set the “Trigger field” as “Last Modified”. If you don’t see “Last Modified” as an option, then you’ll need to take a look at the setup of that table within Airtable. Although Airtable tracks the last modified date for all records, it doesn’t automatically add that field to the table until you do so. Simply open the table, click to add a new field and select “Last Modified Time”. Once you do so, you can return to the Airtable module configuration in callin.io and setup the trigger field.

Let us know if that helps. Cheers.

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. I've added the modified time as a new field and configured the trigger field. However, I'm still encountering the same issue. Are there any alternative solutions?

Is last_modified_time a genuine field within your base? Furthermore, is it updated with every modification? (Occasionally, we assign a specific name to a field but don't actually link it to the event). I'm just verifying fundamental issues, as these often contain the subtle details where problems are hidden.

Hi,

Thank you again. I've verified the modified time. When I make a change, the modified time updates accordingly, confirming it's a valid field in my base.

Hi Hazal, that's quite unusual. I've verified that this functions as anticipated when I test it. I assume you're modifying a field in the Airtable record, ensuring the last_modified-time field is being updated, and then clicking "run once" again on the scenario?

If you're performing all these steps, it would be advisable to submit a support ticket for a more direct assistance.

Hi Dear Patterson,

I've redone everything and made a few adjustments. It's now working correctly, and all my data is being created and updated. Thanks for your assistance.
