Hello, community!

I'm facing an issue when trying to automate TikTok posts using callin.io in conjunction with Buffer, and I'm encountering a specific problem with including videos in the posts. Every attempt to post results in the following error message from Buffer:

400: Tiktok is all about the videos! Up for adding one to your post and trying again?

Automation Setup:

  • I am attempting to create a post that includes a video.
  • I am using a direct link to the video hosted on Airtable (MP4 format, publicly accessible).
  • The “Attach media to the update” field is set to true.
  • The “Title”, “Description”, and “Thumbnail” fields are left empty, which I assumed to be acceptable as the focus is on the video.
  • The “Shorten links within text” option is enabled, but “Attach links in the text as media” is disabled.
  • I am attempting to post immediately (“Publication: now”).

Issue:

  • It appears the system is not recognizing the provided link as a video, or there's a configuration I'm missing that is essential for successfully posting to TikTok via Buffer.

What I’ve Tried:

  • Verifying the video link to ensure it's direct and accessible.
  • Testing with different video formats (MP4 and MOV).
  • Reviewing callin.io and Buffer documentation for any specific configurations that might have been overlooked.

I'm seeking assistance to understand what might be wrong with my setup or if there's an additional, undocumented step I need to follow to successfully integrate TikTok with Buffer via callin.io. Any insights, suggestions, or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for the help!

Hi,

did you manage to find a solution?

I am having a similar issue with TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube uploads through Buffer.

Sadly, uploading directly through the TikTok API Call doesn’t work. According to their documentation, they changed the base URL for their API module, and callin.io has an outdated base URL.

When it comes to YouTube uploads, it’s non-existent.

I managed to set up Buffer on callin.io, but it’s quite costly, and I would like to run the workflow here on callin.io.

Please provide the rewritten markdown content.

Hi,

I'm facing a similar problem. I've provided a link to an MP4 video generated by Creatomate, but it's not functioning correctly. The video link itself is accessible. Is there anything we might be overlooking?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Same Issue. Whether Buffer in callin.io can not upload a video? I can’t find any description in callin.io

Buffer has deprecated their API and no longer supports it. Therefore, using the Buffer integration is not recommended as it may break at any time.

According to this article, you can use a similar product called Ayrshare. However, this external service does not yet have an integration on callin.io.

Ayrshare has a Developer API Reference/Documentation, which you should be able to integrate the endpoints in callin.io using the generic HTTP module.

You can also suggest it for development in the Idea exchange. Remember to search for it first to ensure you don't create a duplicate suggestion.

You can obtain an Ayrshare API key here https://app.ayrshare.com/api for use with the HTTP “Make an API key request” module.

If you require assistance setting up the generic HTTP module to connect with this external service, please start a new thread. Provide details about your attempts using the external service's Developer API Reference, including how you are configuring the connection, a link to the endpoint you are trying to access, and any errors you are encountering.
