Hello! I saw a post about Google Cloud Vision being deprecated, and I was wondering if there's an available module in callin.io that we can use. A few weeks ago, I developed a scenario using the Cloud Vision module, but now in a new scenario within a different organization, it's no longer available.
Is there any workaround for this?
Please provide the rewritten markdown content *it should be in the markdown format.
Hello there!
Google Cloud Vision reached its end-of-life on January 23rd, and its app API will continue to function for existing scenarios until March 31st. This app will be succeeded by a Google Vertex integration on callin.io. Our development team is actively working on implementing this new integration and will provide an update on the release date once more information is available.
We appreciate your patience.
Have you considered copying and pasting the modules from the previous scenario? Would that be a viable solution?
You can select "Copy modules" and then paste the JSON into your text editor as a temporary measure.
Subsequently, log in to the other account and paste the content into a new scenario.
Unfortunately, that was from a prior client, and I no longer have access to that organization.
Thanks, I hope this implementation happens soon
I reviewed my scenarios and noticed I was utilizing the OpenAI Vision module. Ultimately, I opted against Cloud Vision. My apologies.
Are you utilizing OpenAI Vision for PDF to text conversion?
Hi, I received an email yesterday about the replacement through the Vertex AI integration.
May I ask if it’s planned to add modules that are OCR (handwriting, text in PDFs…) focused, or if this is meant to be done through the “Make an API Call” module?
I’m asking because the Cloud Vision modules have been heavily focused on the OCR use-case, whereas the Vertex AI modules seem to be heavily focused on the gen-AI use-cases, and I would like to avoid doing the work twice. Setting up everything with the “Make an API Call” module and then the modules supporting this are released.
Thank you in advance!
Hello there!
Thanks for bringing this up. Currently, we don't have plans for additional OCR features. The Analyze Image/Video module can accomplish similar tasks. While this module doesn't support PDFs or other file types, our development team is looking into it. I'll share an update once I have more information.
Yesterday, we notified users who have Google Vision integrated into their workflows about the transition to Google Vertex AI. I'm sharing the details from that announcement for the community.
Microsoft has deprecated the API for Google Cloud Vision, and consequently, we have also deprecated our Google Cloud Vision app.
We've launched a **new app, [Google Vertex AI (Gemini)]Our new app includes an Analyze Image/Video module that provides enhanced image recognition capabilities, along with additional modules for Create a Text Prompt (text-bison), Create a Chat Prompt (chat-bison), and Create a Chat Prompt (gemini-pro).
While the Google Cloud Vision API service will remain available until March 31, 2024, we advise updating your workflows to utilize the new Google Vertex AI (Gemini) app at your earliest convenience.
Hello everyone
We wanted to let you know that the Google Cloud Vision app is now available again for all our users.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
It appears there might be some misunderstanding here (unless I'm mistaken).
The Google Vision API is still actively being developed and is not being phased out.
The older version of Google AutoML Vision is scheduled for deprecation by the end of March 2024 and is being succeeded by Google Vertex AI.
Is my understanding correct?
Hi, thanks a lot for the follow-up question.
Google Cloud Vision is still actively maintained and will not be deprecated until further notice from Google. It’s important to note that Google Vertex AI and Google AutoML Vision are separate API services and operate independently.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
So, should we disregard the email that was sent out?
Yes, please, kindly disregard the email sent previously. Thank you for understanding.
